MEPs are proposing a resolution on Babiš’s conflict of interest

Members of the EP’s Committee on Budgetary Control, led by its German chairman Monika Hohlmeier, present a motion for a resolution criticizing a possible conflict of interest of the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

The resolution proposes a resolution calling on the Czech authorities to take more effective action against possible conflicts of interest for politicians and the European Commission to zero tolerance and effective protection of the EU budget.

The proposal has the support of most factions in the European Parliament. Following the press conference, MEPs will start discussing amendments.

The adoption of a motion for a resolution, under which Hohlmeierová and Czech MEP Tomáš Zdechovský are signed in the first place, will be put to the vote in the European Parliament on Friday morning.
